Wild West Oxfordshire - Lunchtime Lectures
What image do you conjure when asked to think about prehistoric Oxfordshire?
Maybe mammoths, cavemen, hide tents, or even druidic rituals around stone circles?
This lecture aims to change your perceptions of the Bronze Age in Oxfordshire. It will share some of the county's exciting sites and discuss how archaeologists study its houses, burials and hoards.
Doing so, it argues that this exciting period from our past surprisingly has more in common with the Wild West of America than you might first think.
