All our staff are trained in access awareness and are on hand to help if you need assistance.

Parking is available in front of the building. There are no steps up to the museum, but there is a slight slope and lip into the building. There are stairs to the first and second floors of the museum. A wheelchair lift is available. Use our floor plan (.pdf format 791 KB) to help you plan your visit.

Accessible toilet

The museum and garden gallery have an accessible toilet available at the entrance to the garden gallery. This is accessed from the museum entrance at the back of the building using a stone-flagged pathway with a ramp. The toilets are kept unlocked, so you do not need to ask to access them.

Assistance dogs

All assistance dogs are allowed within the museum. Water is provided in a bowl at the entrance and more can be sourced from the café team.

Parking

There is no parking at the museum but parking on the street in front is available. There are blue badge parking bays directly in front of the museum. Parking is paid for at a meter in front of the museum by cash or card payment. You can also be dropped off in front of the museum.

Seating and access aids

There is seating in the café and portable seating in all the gallery spaces. Other access aids, such as magnifying glasses, are available at the front entrance.
