What you can expect

A lot has been packed into this room. From the Didcot mirror to the Cowley Carnival fire dress, you are surrounded by items that span the prehistoric to the recent past.

The large central case contains a beautiful Annabelinda wedding dress – take time to look at the detail still visible today.

Arranged along a long section of wall is the artefact timeline case. It’s an eclectic mix reflecting the past of the county.

Beginning with palaeolithic stone axes, moving onto a Stuart onion bottle, Edwardian toys and model aircraft from WW2 we end with the fairly recent past – a millennium mug. It’s a snapshot in time for the county.
