Who we are
The Forward Planning division of Network Coordination is responsible for processing all traffic management applications from developers and other non-utility third parties. This may include major development projects, events and small-scale building works which encroach on the highway network.
Our new technical advice service
We are offering a new service to developers and other organisations providing bespoke technical advice on traffic management proposals throughout the course of a project. The service is aimed at saving money, time and cutting disruption to the community.
What the service covers
Before submission of an application
- Pre-submission site meetings
- Guidance on permitting requirements
- Liaising with all impacted stakeholders
- Collaborative working with the road agreements team
- Advice and processing Section 50 licences/road space booking, licences
- Help with informing all affected parties including bus services, emergency services, county/district/parish councils.
While an application is proceeding
- Advise and assist with changes to build and subsequent traffic management/duration/conflict management and resolutions
- Amendments to licences
- Site safety audits
- Reinstatement and shutdown phase
- Registering warranty
- Final site audit/site clear audit
- Remedial works/continuation of further projects

Separate work is charged at the hourly rate of £71/hour

The network team cannot process applications for road space booking without an S278 agreement being in place.
