ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages) are a great way to improve your English.
What are ESOL courses?
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are designed for adults whose first language is not English.
Many courses are available, including:
- Pre-Entry and Entry English for beginners
- Level 1 and Level 2 for people wanting to improve their English

Who is an ESOL course for?
These courses are ideal for you if your first language is not English, and you want to improve your English skills.
You may be eligible to do a free course if you are:
- Aged 19+ (EAL courses are also available for people under 19)
- A citizen of the UK
- An EU citizen
- Recently arrived in the UK with certain types of immigration status (see the table below)
