Foster carers charter

The foster carers’ charter places the child at the centre of everything that we do.

Supporting Oxfordshire’s foster carers and their families is a key priority for both Oxfordshire County Council and the Oxfordshire Foster Care Association.  This is why we have the foster carers’ charter – representing our pledge to those looking after some of the county’s most vulnerable children.

The charter sets out the roles and responsibilities of Children’s Services and foster carers. This charter has been adopted by the Corporate Parenting Panel.  The plan is to review this document annually as part of the programme of events organised by the Oxfordshire Foster Care Association.

The charter, drawn up in partnership with foster carers and Children’s Service staff, formalises our commitment to keeping its carers informed, involved, and supported.  It highlights what foster carers can expect from the County Council and sets out a series of commitments from our foster carers.
