Boiler upgrade scheme

This is the government’s flagship grant scheme to kick-start the transition to clean heat via heat pumps to replace your boiler.

Through the help of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, you could get up to £7,500 towards the cost of replacing a fossil fuel heating system with a renewable heating system. 

You must own the property that you’re applying for and have a valid Energy Performance Certificate. Find my Energy Performance Certificate. Only Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registered installers can access this scheme.

How to apply:

  1. Contact suitable MCS certified installers.
  2. Confirm you’re eligible (your installer will tell you).
  3. Agree a quote with your chosen installer.
  4. Your installer will apply on your behalf through Ofgem. Ofgem will then contact you to confirm the installer is acting on your behalf.
