St John Fisher School Crossing Scheme
New raised zebra crossing, road humps and three side road entry treatments on Sandy Lane West Oxford
Update 28 February
The work is progressing slightly ahead of schedule. Phase 4 will, therefore, commence earlier than planned, on Wednesday 5 March. Note that Phase 4 involves temporary signals on Blackbird Leys Road and will be more disruptive than the traffic management to date.
About the project
Work commenced on 27 January 2025 to install a new Vision Zero road safety scheme on Sandy Lane West in Oxford.
The scheme includes a new raised zebra crossing outside St John Fisher School, new road humps and three side road entry treatments on Costar Close, Broadfields and Spring Lane.
The work is programmed to take place over two months until Friday 28 March 2025.
Traffic Management
The work takes place in five phases to enable the scheme to be carried out safely and efficiently. During the scheme, Sandy Lane West will be closed temporarily, and traffic diversion routes will be signed.
